Howl ("we", "our", "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data We Collect

• Watchlist symbols — The stock tickers you add to your watchlist. Stored locally on your device. If you sign in with Apple, your watchlist syncs to our servers so it works across devices.
• Device token — If you enable push notifications, we store your APNs device token to deliver alerts. This token cannot identify you personally.
• Followed filers — The notable traders you choose to follow (e.g., Buffett, Pelosi). Stored alongside your device token for targeted push alerts.
• Apple ID — If you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple-provided user identifier. We do not receive your name or email unless you choose to share them.
• Anonymous analytics — We use TelemetryDeck to understand how the app is used (e.g., which features are popular). TelemetryDeck does not collect personal data, IP addresses, or device identifiers. No data is shared with advertisers.
• Trial start date — We store the date you first opened the app in your device's Keychain to manage the free trial period. This data stays on your device and is not sent to our servers.
• Subscription status — If you subscribe to Howl Pro, your subscription is managed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We check your subscription status on-device using StoreKit. We do not receive or store your payment information.

Data We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect your portfolio holdings, brokerage accounts, or financial information.
• We do not track you across apps or websites.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for advertising.
• We do not use your data to build advertising profiles.

How We Use Your Data

• Watchlist sync across devices (only if you sign in)
• Push notifications for material stock events, macro news, and SEC filings
• Improving the app based on anonymous usage analytics

Third-Party Services

• Supabase — Cloud database and authentication. Hosts watchlist sync and device token storage. Privacy policy.
• TelemetryDeck — Privacy-first analytics. No personal data collected. Privacy policy.
• Apple Sign-In — Authentication provider. Apple's privacy standards apply.

Data Retention

Watchlist data is retained as long as your account exists. Device tokens are automatically cleaned when they become invalid. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the app's Settings screen.

Your Rights

You can request deletion of your data by contacting ionr.digital@gmail.com or by deleting your account in the app. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA. EU residents have rights under the GDPR.

Children

Howl is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app.
